President’s Perspective

Dear Members and Supporters,

As we close the chapter on our first full season of competition on our home field, I am thrilled to reflect on what has been an extraordinary year for our club. With your unwavering support and commitment, we ended the year in a healthy financial position, a feat greatly supported by the fundraising efforts during our home games. Thank you to everyone who contributed!

One of the most exciting developments this year was the rise in the number of players participating in our club. We saw fantastic growth, especially in our junior side, which is a testament to the hard work and enthusiasm of our coaches and players alike.

Our three men's teams had commendable seasons, with SL3 finishing 7th, SL2 reaching 5th place, and SL5 making it to the semifinals—although we unfortunately missed out on the final. Our women's teams, on the other hand, had an outstanding season! Both SL3 and SL4 made it to the Grand Finals, with SL3 victorious in a thrilling shootout, while SL4 came in as runners-up. Congratulations to all our teams for their hard work and dedication!

This year also marked a significant milestone: we entered our first junior U10s side in eight years and put together our inaugural indoor hockey team. It’s exciting to see our club expanding in new directions!

Our Presentation Night at the Royal Hotel in Queanbeyan was a resounding success, with 68 attendees celebrating the achievements of our members. Congratulations to all the team award winners, and a special shout-out to our Junior Club Person, Charlese Vandeven. Her incredible work umpiring the U10s and supporting the Hin2H program, along with her efforts promoting the club on Instagram, has not gone unnoticed.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to our Senior Club Persons, Cindy Woods and Mark Unwin. Their tireless dedication to our club has been invaluable, with Cindy also championing the Hin2H program.

Furthermore, I am proud to acknowledge Cindy, Megan, and April for their nominations for Australia Hockey's Hin2H Coordinators of the Year. It’s wonderful to see our members recognized for their efforts on a national stage!

A big thank you to our sponsors, Royal Hotel Queanbeyan, Guimonster, and The Tap Doctor. Your support plays a vital role in our club’s success.

Lastly, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the committee members for all the hard work they put in throughout the season. Your commitment and passion make a world of difference to our club.

Here’s to another great year ahead!
